After the Goldrush

Neil Young is one of the most recognizable and enduring figures in modern music history.

'After The Gold Rush', a band playing tribute to him, is fronted by Andrew Sansone performing as “The Loner”. With over 20 years as aprofessional musician and playing multiple instruments, Andrew provides audiences of all ages the dynamic andemotional musical experience that you would expect from NeilYoung himself.

The backing band members are all professional seasonedmusicians from the Greater Toronto area and have played literally 1000's of shows at various festivals, theatres

andnight clubs.

DooDoo the Clown

 Doo Doo has been a Strawberry Festival staple for many years and always manages to entertain and delight the crowd with his wonderfully high energy performances. Doo Doo will be preforming in the bandshell on Saturday at 10:30am and 3:00 pm and again Sunday at 12:30 pm. He will also be entertaining festival goers at Memorial Park throughout the weekend.

Brian Wride - fingerstyle guitar

Brian Wride is an accomplished instrumental guitarist and occasional composer who teaches guitar from his home in Uxbridge, Ontario. His passion is for music education, but he has also developed a love of performing at events and festivals and is a fixture in the York-Durham-Kawartha music scene.  As an instrumental fingerstyle guitarist, Brian creates images and evokes emotions with his guitar and has appeared on the stages of the Springtide Music Festival, the Kawartha Lakes Festival of the Arts and the Greenbank Folk Music Society.

Des McCann - fingerstyle guitar

Des is a local fingerstyle guitarist inspired by the music of Bruce Cockburn and others. His tutelage under D'Arcy Wickham and Jason Fowler has led to a number of finely crafted solo fingerstyle guitar compositions based on things like the sound his cat makes when padding up the stairs - 'Footsteps on the Stairs'.

The Django Djunkies - gypsy jazz (quartet)

The Django Djunkies play music known as Gypsy Swing or Gypsy Jazz. This is a style of music from the 1920s and ongoing which is based on a European interpretation of early jazz and jazz standards in combination with European influenced styles and new compositions.

Harriet Chung Performing Arts

At Harriet Chung Performing Arts, we are proud to offer musical theatre, ballet & point, contemporary, lyrical, acro jazz, hip hop and private coaching at the studio.

Harriet Chung, the Artistic Director of the school, has had an extensive international musical theatre career and has appeared in such hits as the Toronto proudction of The Phantom of the Opera, Cats in Germany and numerous productions of The King & I in Ontario and Britis Columbia where she also received an Ovation Theatre award nomination for Outstanding Choreography.  Harriet also starred in the title role in Golden Lotus, in Hong Kong, where she received a Hong Kong English Drama Award (Heckers) nomination for Best Actress.

The Magic of Aaron Mathews

Aaron Matthews, the ultimate showman! Featuring more laughs, more magic moments and a brand-new jaw dropping illusions for the 2024 summer season! Aaron’s performances are a mix of gut busting laughter, high energy dancing, impossible illusions, inspiring stories and shocking moments!

Aaron’s show has been trusted by the most prestigious events/venues in the country this past 2024 season to provide the best in family entertainment.

Wayne Madder

Wayne Madder is a singer-songwriter, born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and lives in the Municipality of Scugog Ontario, Canada.  Genre of music is jazzy blues, blues, blues rock, soul, fusion, country blues, folk.Wayne’s first single release, Crack in the Wall, made it to the 2021 semi-finals in the International Songwriting Competition and is included on his 2022 album release, Unconditional, which was awarded the Winning Album of the Year 2022 nominated by the OMAs ( Oshawa music awards).

Stouffville Academy of Music & Dance

At Stouffville Academy, we strive to create a high-quality, nurturing, and FUN atmosphere where creativity and self-confidence can flourish amongst our young performing artists-in-training.

 

For 30 years our Performing Arts Family has been a second home for the Dance, Music, and Drama students of Stouffville. Thousands of children have been welcomed through our doors, learning not just how to dance, act, sing, or play an instrument, but the creative and critical thinking skills, as well as communication and collaboration skills, that support their social and emotional development.  We love being a part of the wonderful community of Stouffville.

Mike Cole and Anne DeLong

Mike Cole and Anne Delong, both from Durham Region, are regular jammers at music clubs, open mics and bluegrass festivals in southern Ontario. After hosting Kitchen Party jams around the GTA, they have performed together at Lang Pioneer Village, the Whitevale Porchfest, the Sifton-Cook Museum and the Stouffville Strawberry Festival. They are both members of the Pineridge Bluegrass Folklore Society and the Durham Region Folk Circle.

Noah Leibel and The Kuah Jazz Ensemble

Noah holds a Masters in Music from the University of Toledo in jazz performance, a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Concordia University, a performance certificate from the Musicians Institute in California and also is an OCT certified teacher currently teaching for the York Region District School Board.

Noah plays a wide variety of musical styles including Jazz, Blues, Country, Bluegrass, and Funk.

Isabella Hoops

Isabella Hoops is a circus performer based out of Toronto, Ontario Canada who has always possessed a passion for entertaining people. Her charm, flirtatious energy and her quirky humour is unforgettable. Bella doesn’t just hula-hoop; she brings her own style of dance and rhythm to the hoop to create an extraordinary and memorable show. Bella Hoops has a wide variety of performing experience: from cabarets, to festivals, on the street, in schools and kids birthday parties.

Thirsty Horse

Thirsty Horse is made up of longtime friends and family from Newmarket, Brampton and Mississauga.  Lead vocalist and lyricist Ron Crocker, has been writing and singing from a wee age and with his lifelong career as a social worker lends to his incredible story telling.   Rehearsing from their home in Mississauga, Doug Martin and Lisa Townson both on guitar and vocals share a passion for playing and writing music together bringing original songs to life.  Darcy Piche having drummed and performed in many bands through the years, has mastered the cajon drum adding to the bands acoustic sound.  With a very special guest performance on fiddle, violin and viola by Leslie Dawn Knowles of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, this fusion sound is original and melodious.

Alexia Goldie

Since moving to Music City in 2022, Alexa Goldie has made a name for herself working alongside some of the industries best and playing at Nashville’s most popular venues. In 2023, Alexa was awarded the Artist of the Year and Record of the Year at the OMAs.

Ben Hudson

Ben Hudson first came onto the Canadian country music scene in 2016 with his self-titled EP. He has since made a name for himself with a “Rising Star” nomination at the CMA Ontario Awards and being named “Top Artist To Watch” by Top Country.

Men of Note Male Voice Choir

The subtle mixture of baritone and tenor voices, underscored by the richness of resonant bass notes, produce a blend of sweet sounds possible only when male voices are raised as one in song. Each Men of Note Male Voice Choir concert offers a pleasing and enjoyable interpretation of favourite melodies – from sacred anthems and choral works to plaintive spirituals, traditional folk tunes, show music and popular songs. In addition, a special place is reserved for the songs of Canadian composers.

Kendall Lily

Most at home in front of a microphone with her guitar, Kendall is a local, eighteen-year-old singer/songwriter with a love for performing live music. While she typically performs with her acoustic guitar, Kendall also plays electric guitar, piano and drums. With a growing library of her own original songs and catalog of cover songs spanning multiple generations of music, Kendall continues to hone her craft and share her love for music through live performances. Kendall strives to write and play music that resonates with people and tells story through song. You’ll find Kendall on stages throughout Ontario, playing at Music Festivals, Ribfests, Fairs and other community events. Currently, Kendall is working towards preparing the release of her first single and striving towards her debut EP.

Russ Clayton and The Flailing Shilaleighs

  The Flailing Shilaleighs are a high energy celtic band specializing in East Coast and Irish music. Playing together for the past 8 years, they have released one album entitled 'The Flailing Shilaleighs- Yours To Discover.' It is available on all music platforms as well as the old fashioned CD disc. Today's lineup includes Russ Clayton, Pat Gowan, and Stouffville's own, Ivan Emk

Lost Socks

 The Lost Sox are an acoustic/barely plugged trio consisting of two accomplished guitarists who double on vocals with a fretless bass player holding down the bottom end. The band  has been reformed with founding member Tom Pullin, a long time Stouffville resident. Joining him are Jim Miller, guitarist,singer songwriter,entertainer and recording artist formerly of White Heat, Iron Horse and currently Knights of the Roses. Jim's former high school bandmate is Ian Harvey, a freelance journalist and author. Miller and Harvey played in the prog-punk band Phileas Fogg in the 1970s and reunited in 2023. The trio covers an eclectic mix of material from Vince Gill and Brad Paisley to Eric Clapton and the Eagles with some surprises in between.

WhatAboutBob

What About Bob has been performing Classic Rock in and around the GTA since 1992. Formed with a common bond of a love for the music they all enjoy has led them on a musical journey playing Bars, Festivals, Corporate Events, Weddings and Private Functions for over 30 years. The band features 4

vocalists all taking turns on lead and harmonies providing a variety of styles and flare for the tunes they cover. The current lineup includes Bobby Laporte on Drums and vocals, Andrew Heathcote on Guitar, Harmonica and Vocals, Bruce Bamford on Bass and vocals, Gary Macmillan on Keyboards and Barry Pausey on Guitar and vocals.

Michael Howitt

Michael is a Markham-based singer/songwriter who has entertained audiences at music festivals, street performances, farmers' markets and restaurant/bars in the GTA and surrounding areas.  Michael performs unique folk/pop originals and covers of classic singer/songwriters and bands from the 60's through 90's including Gordon Lightfoot, Neil Young, Harry Chapin, Tragically Hip, Blue Rodeo, etc.  He is known for his captivating vocals and distinctive finger and flat picking guitar techniques.

Richard Eliott

 Richard has been performing for more than 45 years. His music is a collection of different styles, including The Blues, Latin, Flamenco, Rock, Cuban, and his own original compositions. He has performed at many major establishments in and around the Toronto and Durham area.  He also has performed for the students at the "Guillermo Thomas" in Havana and at the "Casa de laTrova" in Santiago de Cuba.

Markham School of Rock

The current School of Rock Markham House Band is a group of talented musicians, ranging in age from 14 to 18. The Markham House Band tours every summer and members have been given the opportunity to play at some of the greatest venues in the world.

The Twangsters

The Twangsters have logged thousands of kilometres and played hundreds of shows all over Southern Ontario over the past several years.  At the fairs and festivals and in the clubs, the band has honed a signature sound that features a solid rhythm section, tight vocal harmonies and some spectacular twin guitar pyrotechnics.

The Twangsters are: Paul Magee (Vocals, Guitars), Brendan Beresford (Guitars, Vocals), Bill Petrie (Bass, Vocals), Neil Lukewich (Drums, Vocals).
