Classic Lightfoot Live

The performance features John Stinson a long time Ontario musician as lead vocalist. John has been entertaining audiences around Ontario for over 30 years.  He has been widely praised for his uncanny sonic resemblance to Gord, and attention to replicating his original sound. In 2008 he began to dedicate time to recreating his favorite music in a tribute show. 

Playing 6 and 12 string guitars just like Gord, John Stinson, backed by the CLASSIC LIGHTFOOT LIVE band, an impressive cast of musicians bring the music from the studio albums to life. Each of them has been influenced by Lightfoot’s music and the passion comes through in every performance.

David Donar

(with Brian O'Sullivan)

David plays the guitar within the Piedmont Blues style that originated in the Southeastern region of the United States.  He learned from some of the great old time folk and blues players located in the foothills of Appalachia, South Carolina.   In addition to the guitar, David also plays Cajun Accordion.  David continues to learn and perform with  group of talented folks in the Greater Toronto area, York Region. he is inspired by  the style of country blues artists like Mississippi John Hurt, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Brownie McGhee, and old time country folk style of Doc Watson, Hank Williams Sr, and Jimmie Rogers.  David strives to embrace the tradition of these old time songsters and to continue this great tradition of music to a new generation of audiences.

Erwin Schack

Erwin is a co-founder of the YDFGA. His fingerstyle renditions include pieces by some of the best know fingerstyle guitar players in the world - Bruce Cockburn, Tommy Emmanuel, Bob Evans andothers. He is also well known for fingerstyle versions of popular and romantic songs such as This Girl's in Love With You by Burt Bacharach. A&M Crossing

Mike Cole and Anne Delong both live Durham Region,and are regular jammers at music clubs and bluegrass festivals in southern Ontario. They first got together to play blues and folk at open mic events. Mike Cole’s influences include acoustic blues musicians Guy Davis and Keb Mo',as well as folksinger Tim Williams.  Anne Delong performs with the Mandolin Society of Peterborough orchestra and the Corktown Fiddlersandis a past member of the bluegrass band Rosewood.

Bob has been playing music since the 60s and can even relate a story about when he spent a day with Neil Young in Yorkville. Bob can be seen and heard at our local open stages such as those run by Stouffville's Epidemic Music Group (world's longest concert) and the York/Durham Fingerstyle Guitar open stage. Bob performs acoustic classic from the 60s and 7s accompanying himself on the guitar and harmonica.

Amber-Jo Bowman

Amber-Jo Bowman is a country/folk singer-songwriter and worship leader from Stouffville ON. After being inspired by Taylor Swift she picked up a guitar at 12 years old, taught herself some chords and never looked back. Her music has positive tones of inspirational storytelling, and wrestling with life, love and big questions. Amber hopes listeners will find their own meaning and connect with the stories she tells through songs.

Barbara Lynn Doran

Barbara Doran has been a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition two years in a row and has been a finalist in The Great American Songwriting Competition multiple times including 2016 with her song “Half Hearted Love”. To date she has release three albums and in back in the studio getting ready to release some new material early in 2019.

With an energetic voice that demands to be heard as well as honest, soulful lyrics meant to tear at the heart strings, Brooklin, Ontario-based country singer/songwriter Barbara Lynn Doran unleashes an auditory feast for her fans, giving a deep, raw, emotional energy that meets in between the most electrifying country songs and the strong, heartfelt power ballads of classic rock.

The current School of Rock Markham House Band is a group of talented musicians ranging in age from 11 to 17. The School of Rock Markham House Band tours every summer and members have been given the opportunity to play at some of the greatest venues in the world, including The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Lincoln Hall in Chicago, Summerfest (the world’s largest music festival) in Milwaukee, the Hard Rock Resort in Punta Cana and Morey’s Pier in Wildwood New Jersey. The School of Rock Markham opened 6 years ago and is a performance-based music education program for kids and adults.

Bruce MacNeil

Bruce MacNeil is a singer/songwriter who performs in the southern Ontario

area. Bruce is a resident of Stouffville enjoying the smaller community

flavour the town offers. Over the years he has played in a band environment but the life-long craft of writing songs has always been foremost in his heart. He has been described as a strong vocalist and

prefers performing in an “acoustic presentation” usually mixing well known contemporary songs with his original music. He has travelled and resided in other parts of North America perhaps attributing to Bruce’s varied style

Jay Dee

Since capturing first place at 2016's Toronto Open Mic Contest, Richmond Hill's Jay Dee has established her band as a high-voltage, spell-binding feature of numerous music festivals (Wintersong, Markham Village, SOTC, Markham Ribfest, Taste of Stouffville, and more) and has recently released her debut EP "Smiling Face." Featuring four original songs that include the ferocious foot-tapping drive " Medicine"; the introspection and exploration of "Bad "Never Knew"  and buoyed by her signature, sing-along title track - an effortless Net"; and The genre-bender that combines country, folk and throwback pop with a touch of rock panache -"Smiling
