June 30, 2019

A small farm on the outskirts of Stouffville is where Gráinne Ryan grew up and if you listen closely, you’ll detect a little piece of the once small farming community in the songs that she writes. Gráinne (pronounced Grawn-ya) is proud to say that this is where she began to cut her musical teeth and hone her craft as a singer-songwriter. Often armed with nothing but an acoustic guitar, Gráinne has managed to captivate audiences of people young and old for over 20 years with her open-hearted, relatable and memorable music. Eric Thom, Roots Music Canada had this to say her last album, Looking For Sunshine: "Reminiscent of Lucinda Williams & a slightly rebellious Mary Chapin Carpenter, Ryan’s earthy perspective goes one big step further in that her original compositions are instantly familiar-sounding, hook-laden songs that encourage you to kick up your feet and sing along"
